Oceania is made up of Australia that has the biggest land area, New Zealand and a number of small Island groups in the South pacific.

The culture is influenced by the Polynesian influence on most of the islands in the south pacific and New Zealand but also on the islands north of Australia the Melanesian influence is evident.

Many of the islands are of volcanic origin and therefore have unique Flora and Fauna. This is due to the development caused by the large distances between the different island groups. Even though the area is far away from everything the human influence has caused the thread of distinction for many species.

Who likes the water should not just enjoy the breathtaking waves but also the breathtaking underwater world, which is ideal for snorkelling and diving.

The climate on the most South Sea Islands is tropical to subtropical; therefore most days are humid and hot.

The only exception is New Zealand with its moderate climate and Australia that is ruled by moderate and cold moderate as well as continental climate zones. The influence of the northwest monsoon is especially evident in the northern areas.

Surfing has a high priority in many societies in Oceania. Especially in Australia, “THE” surfing nation in the southern hemisphere. As many surfer start in a very young age and are very competitive the level is the water is accordingly high.

Further the constant all year conditions allow daily sessions which surely also increases the overall level of expertise. But not just Australia offers good conditions. In New Zealand for example no point on the island is further than 130 kilometres away from the sea. Therefore the way to a working spot is never far.

But also many South Sea Islands offer due to coral reefs ideal surfing conditions. Due to the overwhelming quality of the waves and the relatively short journeys to get there are many spots very popular with Australian and New Zealand surfers.

There are many direct flights to several Oceania island groups from all continents. If a country shouldn’t be directly accessible it is easily reachable with a stopover in Australia or New Zealand. Whoever has some more time can also consider arriving by ferry.
