The 1. European Championship in a stationary wave will happen 20. and 21. August 2011 in a location you would not expect: right in the middle of the Munich airport.
The Wave with a width of 9 meters will be installed in the Munich Airport Center and host Europes best riversufers.
Local surfstars like Quirin Rohleder, Gerry Schlegel and Tao Schirrmacher will take part, but the victory will be hard to get. Surfstars from 5 european countries have signed up already. Special guest Damien Wills will arrive from Australia.
They all are going to fight for the pricemoney of 10.000 € with tricks, jumps and moves, judged by an international jury and sanctioned by the German Surfing Ferderation.
After the Championship, The Wave will be open for all surfers, young and old, beginners or experts, for another week.
